Philippines

I left Cleveland Friday 1/7, spent 20 hours in the air, 6 hours in various airports and still landed on Friday evening. Crossing the International Date Line will do that. Does that mean you have to date a foreigner? It is an “International Date”!

My room last night was 7’ X10’ with no windows and a wheezy A/C so I switched to another establishment. It’s a lot nicer with a garden and free breakfasts. It’s raining now so I’m just going to rest for a day. My new hotel is nicer and has a gardenPhilipines 2012 001 (Small)

I went to Old Manila and walked through Fort Santiago and almost crashed a wedding and the largest church on the Square. Most of Manila was leveled by US artillery during WW2 so old buildings are a rarityPhilipines 2012 011 (Small)

This is a tourist area so there are many horse drawn carriages and bike taxis. It was raining so I used one for $8/hour.

I plan to visit Bataan and

Corregidor tomorrow. The weather has been warm with some light rain.

  1. I thought the dateline was the other way. If you leave Friday it is already Saturday there and when you land it's Sunday.

Blog working good, I'll add it to my blogs I follow on my page http://khmexico10.blogspot.com/
